Dr. Christine Warzee DVMDiplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons ACVS Founding Fellow in Surgical Oncology
Dr. Warzee graduated from the University of Liege in Belgium in 1993. She worked as an associate in a small animal general practice in France for two years before she came to the United States. She completed her small animal internship at the University of Florida and her surgical residency at Michigan State University. Dr Warzee achieved ACVS board certification in 2002.
Since completing her surgical residency, she has actively pursued her interest in surgical oncology. In 2000, she accepted a Visiting Assistant Professorship in Surgical Oncology at Auburn University in Alabama. In 2001, she joined the University of Illinois Veterinary Cancer Care Clinic where she completed a surgical oncology Fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Nicole Ehrhart. Upon completion of her Fellowship, she accepted a faculty position in surgical oncology at the University of Illinois. In 2004, she joined the faculty of Michigan State University as the surgical oncologist to contribute to the launch of the Center for Comparative Oncology. As the only faculty member in the surgical oncology department for over 8 years, her work was dedicated to developing a focused surgical oncology service. She was also instrumental in instruction of professional students and residents in the field of surgical oncology.
In 2012, the American College of Veterinary Surgeons recognized Surgical Oncology as a discipline-specific field of expertise. Dr Christine Warzee was named an ACVS Founding Fellow in Surgical Oncology, one of only 35 surgeons to attain this distinction. Dr Warzee is one of two practicing veterinary surgeons in the state of Michigan to have achieved this prestigious distinction.
Since 2013, Dr Warzee has brought her many years of training, dedication and skills to her position as head surgeon with Animal Cancer and Imaging Center.
Jessica Lupi LVT: Jessica obtained her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Macomb Community College in 2007 and became licensed the same year. She worked in general practice honing her skills in surgery until she joined ACIC in 2013 in the surgery department. She enjoys helping the patients and clients through their treatments and ensuring our patients and taken care of and comfortable after their procedures. Jessica is married with a young child, and 3 dogs.
Alyson Fisher LVT: Alyson obtained her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Wayne County Community College District in 2012 and became licensed the same year. She had experience in general and emergency practice before coming to ACIC in 2015. Her primary duties are day time patient care, but she does enjoyhleping in surgery when she can. She lives with her doberman, a polydactyl cat and her chinchilla.
Cristina Vernon LVT: Cristina obtained her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Baker College in 2008 and became licensed the same year. She came to ACIC in 2011 already with experience in speciality medicine, especially surgery. Her primary duties currently are overnight patient care. Cristina is married with a small child and 2 dogs. When time allows she enjoys horse back riding.
Melissa Arrol LVT: Melissa obtained her Associates in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Fairmont State College, West Virginia in 1996 and became licensed the same year. She has worked in general practice, as well as specialty practices in Virginia and Michigan. Melissa first worked with ACIC in 2008. After a break, she returned in 2011. She now works in medical oncology and as one of our overnight patient care technicians. She is married with 2 young children, 5 dogs, 2 painted turtles, a yound cat and a husky.
